Fredericia Public Library holds a large collection of books.  We offer a wide range of novels, fiction and non-fiction to accommodate our menbers needs. See the new books in English you can borrow home for a month at a time:

Monday – Thursday 8am – 7pm, Friday 8am – 5pm, Saturday 10am – 2pm, Sunday 1pm - 4pm (october to march)

Membership and Library Card

Membership is free and with a library card you have access to the whole collection. Joining is easy you just have to visit us at Fredericia Public Library and sign up. Joining is free.  You will need to provide proof of your name and address - this could be a driving licence, a passport or your Sundhedkort. The library staff speaks English. 

Your "Sundhedskort" (National Health Insurance card) is valid as a Library card and must be presented at every loan.

There is no minimum age to join your Library. Membership is open to anyone with a permanent address.
Children up to fourteen years old get a children’s' Library Card. You need one of your parents' signature on a registration formula. The library card will then be handed out to you in the Library.

Books, magazines and scientific articles

Your library card provides access to ebooks , magazines , movies and scientific articles - all legally. The Library gives you access to the following online services. (You will be asked for your username and password to the Library)

Newspapers online

Your library card gives access to read current issues of newspapers in the original form from all over the world as digital replicas of newspapers you can read on your computer, phone or tablet.
The newspaper service is LibraryPressDisplay.


The library offer free streaming of cinema movies from "Filmstriben" and "Verdensbiblioteket".  To access, sign in using your library login. Library Login is your social security number and the code that you use when you borrow books at the library. 

Fees and charges

Borrowing is free. However, there are charges for loaned items that are overdue. Your loans can be renewed up to 3 times if there are no outstanding reservations attached. Most library items are on loan for a period for 31 days. If an item is overdue you will be charged according to our current regulations. You are responsible for any item borrowed on your card. If you lose your card, please inform the library staff at once in order to avoid misuse. If you change your name, email, phone or move to another address, please inform the staff. Computer and Internet

PC usage and access to the Internet is free. We also offer Wifi, so you can bring your laptop or phone. Prints will be charged.
