Comics Plus Library Edition
Borrow Digital Comics anytime, anywhere, with your library card. Thousands of digital comic books are available with a click or a tap of your finger. All you need is your library card and a web browser to get started. You must create at seperate user account at Comics the first time. Remember to chose Fredericia Bibliotek as your library. The comic service is free.

Newspapers from all over the world

Your library card gives access to read current issues of newspapers in the original form from all over the world as digital replicas of newspapers you can read on your computer, phone or tablet.

Movies

The library offer free streaming of cinema movies from "Filmstriben" and "Verdensbiblioteket". To access, sign in using your library login. Library Login is your social security number and the code that you use when you borrow books at the library.

Magazines

RBdigital Magazines, the world's largest newsstand, offers full-color digital magazines for reading on desktops, mobile devices, and apps. The library's collection of popular digital magazines includes both new and backlist titles with no holds and no checkout periods. Login with your library card is required and a creation of a seperate RBdigital user account. The service is free.

Membership and Library Card

Membership is free and with a library card you have access to the whole collection. Joining is easy you just have to visit us at Fredericia Public Library and sign up. Joining is free. You will need to provide proof of your name and address - this could be a driving licence, a passport or your Sundhedkort. The library staff speaks English. 

Your "Sundhedskort" (National Health Insurance card) is valid as a Library card and must be presented at every loan. There is no minimum age to join your Library. Membership is open to anyone with a permanent address. Children up to 18 years will have a childrens Library Card. One parents' signature must figure on a registration formula. The library card will then be handed out to the child at the Library.

 

Fees and charges

Borrowing is free. Most library items are on loan for a period for 31 days. Your loans can be renewed up to 3 times if there are no outstanding reservations attached. If an item is overdue you will be charged according to our current regulations. Current regulations (in danish)

You are responsible for any item borrowed on your card. If you lose your card, please inform the library staff at once in order to avoid misuse. If you change your name, email, phone or move your address, you will have inform the staff.
 

Computer and Internet

PC usage in the public area in the Library. Internet access is free. We offer free Wifi service for study use, so you can bring your laptop or phone. Prints will be charged. Read the current regulation for computer and Internet use at the library

The library search engine

The search engine at the top of the page gives you access to the library's catalog, detailing each book, journal or online resource. The library's database contains millions of records. Knowing a few search tips may be helpful.

Keywords
Start by writing one or more keyword from the title, subject or author. Then adjust the search using facets to delimit the result.

Variants
If you want more variations and endings of the same word, use the * character, which is placed on the end of a word.

Quote
If you want to search for a specific title or a specific word composition, use the quotation mark "It is written at the beginning and the end. Ex. "The Red Horses".

Search code
They are used to get accurate results. Here is some:

Boolean operators AND OR NOT.
AND combines keywords. The result is a display of records containing both keywords.
OR is used to expand the search. The display is often very large.
NOT used to exclude keywords and effective technique to exclude a word. The word that stands after "NOT" is sorted out.

You order a book for loans by selecting the "Reserve" button, which is located next to the title of the book you are looking at. When a book is ready for you, you will receive a reminder on mobile or mail
